Scott Richman is the Managing Member and Chief Investment Officer at Whitehaven Asset Management. Prior to founding Whitehaven in 2013, Mr. Richman was Head of Municipal Investments at Gracie Asset Management, LP (Gracie), a ~$2 billion hedge fund at the time of his departure, from May 2008 through March 2012. He founded the municipal business at Gracie where he was the only municipal investment professional. Mr. Richman’s duties included portfolio management, credit research, trade execution, meeting with investors and issuers, and managing sell-side relationships. He also utilized U.S. interest rate products to mitigate interest rate risk and sovereign fixed income markets to hedge macroeconomic event risk. Before joining Gracie, Mr. Richman worked at Lehman Brothers from July 2005 through May 2008 where he was a proprietary trader on a ~$2 billion municipal and interest rate products portfolio. Mr. Richman graduated from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. in economics and a concentration in finance along with a minor in political science.
Paul Ferrarese
Senior Partner & Head of Business Development
Paul Ferrarese is a Senior Partner at Whitehaven Asset Management where he participates in the investment process, leads business development, and oversees investor relations. Prior to joining Whitehaven, Mr. Ferrarese was a Managing Director and Head of Municipal Institutional Sales for Goldman Sachs. In this capacity, he was responsible for leading a team of 11 professionals, was a member of the credit sales operating committee and municipal securities risk committee and was charged with managing the firm’s relationships with institutional investors. From 2006 through 2008, Mr. Ferrarese was the Co-Head of Merrill Lynch’s institutional municipal derivative sales desk covering banks, insurance companies, hedge funds and other institutional investors both domestically and abroad. As a member of the municipal securities division at Citigroup and its predecessor firms from 1993 through 2006, he held various roles in institutional sales ultimately serving as a Managing Director. Mr. Ferrarese earned an M.B.A. with a concentration in finance from the M.I.T. Sloan School of Management and a B.S. from Tufts University.
Vincent Marchisella is the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer at Whitehaven Asset Management. Prior to joining Whitehaven, Mr. Marchisella was the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer from April 2004 through October 2013 at Wesley Capital Management, LLC (Wesley), a long/short real estate focused hedge fund that invested in equities, fixed income, and OTC derivatives. During Mr. Marchisella’ s tenure, the firm grew from ~$200 million to ~$1.6 billion in assets under management. Prior to joining Wesley, Mr. Marchisella was the Chief Financial Officer from July 2001 through April 2004 at Archery Capital, LLC, a New York based fund of hedge funds and worked from October 1996 through July 2001 in the audit department of Goldstein Golub Kessler & Co, LLP, a New York based public accounting firm where he was a manager in the financial services group focused on hedge funds and investment partnerships. Mr. Marchisella graduated from Queens College of the City University of New York with a B.A. in accounting and information systems. Mr. Marchisella is a C.P.A. certified by the State of New York.
